Community 'Green Living' Workshops

This consultation has concluded.

As part of the Holdfast Environmental Action Trust (HEAT) Fund, the City of Holdfast Bay is proposing a series of Green Living workshops. A range of topics is being considered, from vegetable gardening in small spaces to reducing electricity consumption at home, habitat creation and bird box building.

Green Living means caring for the environment when you make decisions about your lifestyle. Actions such as recycling, turning off lights, choosing to walk instead of drive or growing your own vegetables helps to reduce your impact on the environment.

It is proposed that these workshops will be open to residents, local schools, community organisations and businesses in the area.  We are also proposing that we will offer vouchers or discounts to support the workshops.

We are seeking your comments to ascertain the level of interest and your ideas on this program.  Let us know what you think either by: completing the forum below, collecting a survey from the Brighton Civic Centre or the Library branches located at Brighton and Glenelg or by letter or email on mail@holdfast.sa.gov.au.

This consultation commences on Wednesday 17th August 2011 until close of business, Wednesday 31st August 2011.

Would it be useful to have a bulletin board or newsletter for environmental information?

Council has a website called EcoCity. This website includes information on living sustainably. Have you visited our EcoCity website and, if so, do you have any comments?
