The Code of Practice for Access to Meetings and Documents is a mandatory Code under Section 92 of the Local Government Act 1999 (the Act). Its purpose is to document how and where the public can find information such as agendas and minutes of Council meetings; and the reasons for restricting access, when required.
The Code relates to parts 3 and 4 of Chapter 6 of the Local Government Act that deals with public access to Council and Council Committee meetings and their minutes and release of documents.
